Ontario Jewish Archives
The Ontario Jewish Archives relies heavily on volunteers and interns to assist with a variety of projects: identifying people in photographs, processing records, research and writing, data input, transcribing oral histories, etc. Volunteers or interns with specialized skills can also help with projects such as graphic design, research, and outreach initiatives. Some of our volunteers have been with us for as long as thirty years.
Volunteering at the Archives is a positive experience that makes one feel closer to the community, enables people to learn more about the history of Jewish Ontario, and makes an important contribution to this institution. Volunteering is also a good way to pick up new skills for individuals who are interested in history and archives. We have already helped train several people who have considered pursuing a career in archives.
